Cold Days + Lemonade = Summer

I thought i’d take a short commercial break from my usual style post.

It was a cold day in NYC and I think everyone deserves to think that summer arrived already.

I’m definitely pretending.

If you are ever trying to think of a pick me up to buy me, please buy me a drink. Or a notebook.

But drinks. They don’t even have to be alcoholic.

High up on my lists are milkshakes, iced coffee and lemonade.

Lemonade is what summer tastes like, in my opinion. Everything about it is so right. If you make it right.

So, today was a cold day. It’s June 4th, but that’s not a problem.

I was in the mood of summer, so I made it look like summer in my cup.

In short, I accidentally made up an amazing recipe for lemonade and would like to share it with you all.

You’ll need:

4 1/2 cups water

3/4 lemon juice

3/4 Sugar

1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries

Ice cubes

Start by putting the sugar in a heat safe bowl and pouring 1/2 cup of boiling water on it. Mix it up until the sugar dissolves and then let cool.

Then puree the strawberries.

Add 4 cups of water to the blended strawberries. Then add 3/4 cup lemon juice, and the cooled sugar water.

Blend the whole thing up.

Add ice and enjoy!

If it works the way mine did, it should look like this:

I like to call it Ombre Strawberry Lemonade. It’s perfection in a glass.
