New York City Is Ugly

Just kidding, just titled it that to get you to open it.

New York City is not ugly. Parts of it are dirtier than others, but there’s so much beauty in it. Even the subway is like art- it fascinates me every time I’m on it.

Yesterday, my sisters and I discovered one of NYC’s treasures.

Well, we didn’t discover it, there were over 300 hundred people there at least, but we got a chance to enjoy it.

Using a groupon, we went biking in Central Park.

It was amazing.

We are not fit. We are not bikers. But we felt like we were.

For those of you who read my last post, you know that biking doesn’t come so smoothly to me :). But despite a few close calls, and a jogger falling on my bike, (which I am still not 100% sure of who’s fault  that was), we did well. I felt more in shape than ever, due to a recent increase in exercise. It’s always nice to see things pay off.

It was also impossibly hot, but I couldn’t let myself complain (too much) because it only takes one memory of the awful winter we had to be especially grateful for the warmth.

We stopped to check out some insane scenery. How can you say New York City is ugly after this view?

It was positively blissful.

I mean, look at this.

It was a marvelous day, and it was especially awesome to spend it with 2/5 of my sisters.

Where do you live?

Do people think it’s ugly?

Every city has it’s good and bad parts, but there’s always something there. Even if it looks ugly to others, there’s always someone who can find the art in what looks like nothing.

It happened to be quite easy today, all we had to do was look up, but my favorite activity in this city is to explore it and find all the beautiful things beneath the dirty exterior.
